It depends on the practice. At some practices, you can't claim on your fund and get the offer price as well, so ask before you book. Some practices also offer a no-gap check-up and clean for members of their preferred health funds.
Your child may be eligible if they're aged 0 to 17 for at least one day of the year, they're eligible for Medicare, and you or they get an eligible payment, such as Family Tax Benefit Part A, at least once that year. You don't need to bring the letter. Tell the practice you want to use the CDBS when you book, and they'll check for you.

The kids check-up and clean offer is only available at participating 1300SMILES practices. Use the practice finder on this page to find one.
For children aged 10 and under, it includes a standard dental examination and a routine scale and clean. For children aged 11 to 17, it also includes x-rays if the dentist recommends them.
Prices and inclusions vary by practice. For children aged 10 and under the price is $99 or $120. For children aged 11 to 17 it's $149 or $159. Not every practice offers both age groups. Your practice will confirm its price when you book.
Any other services, diagnostics or treatment, including x-rays for children aged 10 and under, aren't included. If they're recommended, they'll be quoted separately and charged in addition to the offer price.
All treatment is subject to the clinical assessment of the treating practitioner.
The offer can't be used with any other offer. You may not be able to claim on private health insurance and receive the offer price, so ask the practice before your appointment.
No-gap check-ups and cleans are available at some participating practices to eligible members of their preferred provider health funds. Whether you pay a gap depends on your fund, your level of cover, your available benefits and the treating practitioner.
Payment is due at the time of the appointment. Some practices ask for a deposit when you book online. Appointments are subject to availability.
