One of the most rewarding treatments I love to provide for my patients are Veneers. Veneers are basically tooth coloured coverings over the front of your teeth and are usually made out of porcelain but can also be made with other composite materials. If you have chipped or discoloured teeth or you’re just not happy with the shape of them, Veneers are the way to go!

Patients usually come in with an idea about what in particular they don’t like about their teeth. My job is to take what they don’t like and actually make it work for them.

Why Veneers?

For some cases, Veneers can be used to alter the positioning of your teeth. For example, if you have little spaces in between your teeth or you think you have small teeth, Veneers can help to close the space and make your teeth appear bigger thereby improving your overall appearance. The best thing I love about them is that they can be customised whichever way you desire to improve your smile but still give you a natural look.

How do they work?

Veneers are great because unlike full crowns or caps, only a minimal amount of the tooth is shaved down and therefore you don’t have to damage the whole tooth. In some cases, you don’t have to Veneer all of your front teeth. Let’s just say you chipped your front tooth and keep having to get it filled because it always falls out. A Veneer would be the perfect option here and you would only need to do the one to adequately match the surrounding teeth.

They are also not totally permanent so in the future, if your faces changes or you feel like they don’t suit you like they used to, you can always have them replaced.

If you’re looking to improve your smile and overall appearance, Veneers might be the way to go for that little confidence boost everyone wants!
