This year Dental Health Week runs from 1-7 August and is focusing on Women and Oral Health. Hormones can play havoc with a woman’s oral health and in a recent study it was revealed that many women are unaware of the significant impact various life stages have on the health of their teeth and gums.

Major life events like pregnancy, puberty, menstruation and menopause can dramatically affect the state of a woman’s dental health.

Throughout the course of Dental Health Week, women will be encouraged to take a more preventative, hands-on approach to their dental health while being educated on the ways their teeth, gums and mouth are affected during each pivotal phase of their life.
