Child Dental Benefits Schedule Does your child qualify for the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS)? This means tested government scheme provides children aged between two and seventeen with $1,000 of essential dental care services to use  over a two calendar year period. It requires receipt of a relevant Australian Government Payment or Family Tax Benefit Part A (FTB-A).

Services covered include examinations, cleanings, fissure sealants, x-rays, fillings, tooth extractions and root canals. Orthodontic treatment, cosmetic dental work, or any work carried out in a hospital setting is not covered.
