Listed Queensland dental group 1300SMILES has made its first major interstate expansion play, by entering into a management services agreement with one of the largest dental businesses in Western Australia.
LifeCare Dental is a long-established and highly respected dentistry business in WA, with three major practice facilities in Perth.
Under the agreement, dentists and staff of LifeCare Dental will focus on the delivery of dental services rather than the administrative and management operations.
LifeCare Dental’s principal dentist and owner, Dr Alex Negoescu, says the new relationship with 1300SMILES will allow the group’s three Perth practices to deliver an even higher level of dental care and services for patients.
“While LifeCare Dental has serviced the Perth community since 1989, we recently identified the need to have a professional, specialised dental business management team in place, to ensure our ongoing and future success and growth plans,” he says.
“Following in-depth discussions with 1300SMILES, and reviewing their structure, management team, and proven performance during the past four years as the only ASX–listed dental management services operator, we made our decision and believe this will be a successful step forward for all concerned.
“The transition for our practices will be seamless and there will be no disruptions to our daily activities. It’s all about 1300SMILES managing the back-of-house, whilst we all focus on the patients and our dental services.”

1300SMILES recently announced an 83 percent leap in half-yearly profit, and in December last year made its first interstate expansion into New South Wales.
