Medicare Teen Dental Vouchers Extended to All?
A VOUCHER system that gives vital dental care to teenagers could be extended to people of all ages as the Gillard Government moves to honour promises it made to secure its majority.
Under a plan being considered by Health Minister Nicola Roxon, families earning up to $110,000 a year could get help with serious dental bills - an extension of the current teenager dental voucher scheme.
And the Greens and independent-driven revolution to national dental care could come as soon as next year's Budget, led by a possible funding blitz to help the 500,000 Australians waiting for public dental care.
One in four of those on the public dental waiting lists had been waiting for longer than two years for treatment; some wait up to 10 years.
